Over the summer I had an interesting opportunity to work for the Women’s Club as the photographer for the annual Garden Walk in Cedarburg. I photographed 5 locations all over town, the smallest area was less than 1/3 acre took about 15 minutes, the largest was around 2 acres and it required a good 2 hours to cover. The shoots were pretty standard, natural lit, and simple. The most complicated and hectic part was trying to find the right time of day to shoot and scheduling time with 5 different families over the course of a week. I could only shoot one a day because of the light, but it all worked out.
It was really cool to see what the backyards and gardens looked like from houses I’ve often driven past. I also saw plants and flowers that i’ve never seen before. The images I captured were burned on disc and printed for the families participating in the walk, some were also printed full page spread in the local newspaper, so that was nice too.
